The Piermont Health Officer enforces the New Hampshire public health laws together with any local ordinances and regulations in accordance with RSA 128:5. They also serve as the liaison between state officials and the local community on issues concerning local public health.
The Health Officer is State appointed upon the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen and works closely with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
